Boron rejection from aqueous solution and wastewater by direct contact membrane distillation

Boron is widely used in various areas of modern technology. Due to the environmental problems arising during production and use, studies on removal recovery boron from wastewater have been increased recently. Membrane distillation (MD) system smaller size with respect other common systems needs lower operating temperatures. In addition, equipment costs are reduced safety process increases since it operates at pressures. Moreover, membrane can remove pollutants water without using chemicals. this study, rejection aqueous solutions was investigated by direct contact (DCMD) where both surfaces a porous hydrophobic were liquid streams. The effects parameters (pH, feed concentration, temperature, etc.) highest found be 50 % when pH=10 °C feeding pump 54 rpm. According test results K?rka Borax treatment plants, mean distillate fluxes as 13, 16 14 L m-2 h-1 temperatures 30, 40 °C, respectively. percentages 47, 64 48 It observed XRD spectra that crystals mainly consist Na2B(OH)4Cl Mg2B2O5 structures.
